Hiiiiiiiiii, can you believe this weather?
I’m on the road again! Cue Willie Nelson. Had to escape the Los Angeles smog and bounce. There’s nothing like listening to your favorite album on repeat and letting yourself burst into tears when the vibrant colors of the sun setting over the mountains overwhelms you. My destination is Colorado Springs, to decompress and breathe fresh air at my sister’s.
FUN FACT
On my way out of California, I passed the Ivanpah solar power facility (what once was the largest solar power farm in the world, but is no longer, thank you China and India and the UAE). It was a magnificent sight, truly. I hit the breaks immediately and pulled into the right lane, meeting pace with the trucks so I could gaze at the three shining beacons of light and their mirrored surroundings, all nestled cozily in the Clark Mountains.
That’s it for now folks. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a pic of the clothing section at this Nevada gas station just outside of Vegas. The availability of American flag themed jewelry was impressive. And I’ll have to grab myself a racing T-shirt on the way back.
ps. comment a :) emoji if you remember Music Mondays. Let me know if you are interested in this sort of travel writing. Maybe it’s time to hit the road again…
